When Teien was released last year we were told it was the first of three venues exploring various forms of occlusion. The second, of course, was Aquarium. And we now have our first look at the third. It’s called Redwoods.
The new venue is a small, cozy little cabin in the woods…from the spy’s perspective. From the sniper’s perspective, it’s a bit more sinister than usual: they play the role of horror film stalker, watching the party from a distance, obscured by numerous trees. The occlusion of the trees isn’t the only new thing, though:
- As previously revealed, this new venue will test out a new mechanic allowing the spy to inspect statues without touching them.
- The reason the mechanic is currently specific to this venue is that there are two small “bookcases” (just a few books) between statues, meaning you can inspect statues while reading a book there.
- There are two other single statues, but three required to complete the mission, so you’ll have to visit one of the bookshelf-statue hybrid pads in order to finish, unless you make three separate statue trips.
- You can add time in front of the fire place.
