What is SpyParty?

SpyParty is a spy game about human behavior, performance, perception, and deception. While most espionage games have you spend your time shooting stuff, blowing stuff up, and driving fast, SpyParty has you hide in plain sight, deceive your opponent, and detect subtle behavioral tells to achieve your objectives.

SCL Week 7 Wrap-Up

Week 7

In Challenger dowsey won in staggering fashion over plastikqs 7-0 (casted here), and now sits at the top of the division with pox who defeated waterhouse 7-4. Both players started 2-0 and dropped their week 3 matchup, but have won four straight since. c9high started 5-0 but, following his first loss, has forfeited to turnipboy. incnone shook off two straight losses (after a 4-0 start) to defeat mastrblastr 7-4.

Challenger looked like it was clearing up, but the narrowing of the field has narrowed the margins, with just two points separating the top 11 players. In this division’s Swiss style, the matchups get harder as you go, and we’re just now starting to take the true measure of its competitors as they collide with, and react to, one another.

In Iron, mrrgs took the first two games against ml726 won the final seven to take the match. mrrgs was sitting just outside the top two in Iron, but this is a significant setback. There’s a chance at redemption, as the schedule has given him consecutive matchups with jecat. Very likely that, after those two matchups, we’ll know the Iron finalists.

In Copper gmantsang nearly scored a major upset over marimo, but the latter won the final game to take a 7-5 victory. The Polish brothers in Copper are presumably the favorites, but steph has played just three matches and remains capable of disrupting the all-family final when those resolve.

In Bronze, catnip and sgnurf tied for the second time this year, this time with all sniper wins (casted), and nanthelas defeated arturiax 7-4. nanthelas has taken over first, thanks to jyaty‘s tie and loss the last two weeks after a 4-0 start. jyaty still has a match in hand, but even spotting them a win would mean a tie atop Bronze. catnip is still in the running for the finals, but will need a victory over nanthelas in Week 10, and will probably need some additional help somewhere in the other matchups. Nothing’s locked down in Bronze yet, but it could be very soon.

In Silver, checker and turnout8 completed their week 1 match with turnout winning 7-4. The match was casted and featured seven spy wins. The only other match played was teetery and james1221, which teetery won 7-3, not dropping a single sniper game. It’s going to be wodar and yerand in the finals.

In Gold, falconhit tied his match with scallions 6-6 and royalflush beat sharper narrowly, 7-5. elvisnake and pwndnoob posted a previously played (and just casted) match, with the latter winning 7-5. At 3-0-2, pwndnoob has yet to lose, and the victory establishes a clear tier between noob and falconhit at the top of Gold.

None of week 7’s Platinum games have been played, but slappydavis played varanas for their week 6 matchup and won 7-4. cameraman has several matches outstanding, so we’ll either see multiple resolutions or forfeits by this time next week, which will bring the Platinum picture into sharper focus. Both slappydavis and varanas are still technically in the running for the finals, but cleetose and pires control their own destinies, and any Platinum players trying to disrupt that showdown will have to steal a win off of one or both of them down the stretch.

In Diamond, warningtrack won the final five games against canadianbacon to take the match 7-3, in a set that saw six spy wins. bloom defeated magician1099 7-4, and kcmmmmm and krazycaley played live on stream for the second time in three weeks, with kcmmmmm forcing a tie with a dramatic spy win in the final game.

There’s a pile-up in Diamond with just three points separating 2nd from 5th. The only outstanding match is krazycaley-bloom from Week 6.
